Once you get inside the TARDIS, it changes you. You can’t go back to being just a reporter, a shop girl, a con man, an intern, a temp or a professor. You become so much more, just by being in that blue box.
You become an unstoppable force of the universe, riding with a god. How can you go back to anything else? So you wait, you hope, you dream. You hear the sound. You go running.
